Ytech has completed the foundation pour for The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a 70-story luxury condominium tower set to rise along Miami’s Brickell Avenue. The milestone began on September 26 and continued for 33 uninterrupted hours, marking the largest mat foundation pour ever executed in Brickell and reinforcing the developer’s commitment to delivering a new level of residential living in Miami.
A video shared to Instagram by a member of the concrete pouring team captured a fly-by of the site as the operation passed the 10,000-cubic-yard mark, showing a dense web of placing booms, rebar, and crews working in tandem as trucks continued their steady rotation through Brickell.
The massive operation, managed by Coastal Construction, placed approximately 13,000 cubic yards of concrete over the course of the continuous effort. More than 1,300 truck deliveries cycled between the site and the concrete plant to sustain the flow of material, while five placing booms coordinated placement on site. The mat foundation also incorporated 2,700 tons of reinforcing steel to anchor the superstructure above.
Ytech, led by CEO Yamal Yidios, is developing the tower, which will contain 195 residences ranging from 1,800 to 4,000 square feet, all oriented eastward with direct views of Biscayne Bay. Arquitectonica designed the building with a flowing, wind-inspired façade and a distinctive solar panel-integrated glass exterior. A “Solar Backbone” of 500 photovoltaic-integrated windows will span nearly 20,000 square feet along the west-facing façade, generating 175,000 kWh of clean energy annually. The system is expected to reduce 4,700 tons of CO₂ emissions and offset 3,000 barrels of oil each year. Interiors are being crafted by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and landscape architecture is by ArquitectonicaGEO. Amenities will span an 80,000-square-foot wellness club tailored to relaxation and well-being.
The completion of the pour follows months of excavation and foundation preparation. Standing 861 feet once built, The Residences at 1428 Brickell will introduce a new landmark silhouette to the Miami skyline.
